"Ammon said unto him: I am a man; and man in the beginning was created after the image of God, and I am called by his Holy Spirit to teach these things unto this people, that they may be brought to a knowledge of that which is just and true; And a portion of that Spirit dwelleth in me, which giveth me knowledge and also power according to my faith and desires which are in God."

Elder Kreyling Enters MTC

Elder Barry Kreyling entered the MTC at 1:00pm. It wasn't an easy day for Mom and Dad but it ended well as they said goodbye to their son. The day started with his dad waking him at 6:00am and having companion prayer. Then getting ready for the day. Eating his breakfast of papusas and mango and hot chocolate. When leaving Jan's house I (dad) looked in the rear view mirror and saw Barry's eyes welling with tears which caused my eyes to well with tears. During the trip up Barry finished that you notes to people that helped him and set some goals for Mom and Dad. Stopped in Nephi for a restroom break. The got some whopper Jrs. in Provo because we weren't sure with a one o'clock check in time if he would eat before dinner. We ate under a tree just east of the MTC and enjoyed some final time together. We walked down to the MTC entrance to take pictures and all of a sudden someone is shouting Barry's name. It was Maggie Nikolaus. That put a smile on Barry's face. We took the pictures and then Maggie took the one with all of us in. It was now time to head back to the car and drive down to drop Barry off. As we were crossing the street Barry needed a restroom. We only had a half hour until we needed to drop him off. This was not enough time to drive somewhere so I asked a MTC worker where a restroom was. I thought he would point to one at the park across the street but instead he pointed toward the MTC and told us to go through some side doors. We started to walk in that direction but after about 10 yards we were stopped by another worker. "Where are you going?" she asked so I explained to her the situation and she let us pass. We crossed the driveway and were on the sidewalk by the MTC when another worker who was grumpier than the others stopped us. We explained again the situation and he told us we couldn't go through those doors but would have to go around through the front doors. While we were talking with him we hear someone yelling Barry's name. It turned out to be Mckay Wright Barry's close friend. Barry had hoped to see him there where Mckay had been for a month but thought it unlikely. Mckay ran over and they hugged both beaming. They visited for a minute or two while the MTC worker was mumbling under his "that elder shouldn't be doing that. The rest of the drop off went well. The elders that were there to escort him in were going to Russia and were nice. They told Barry he was going to have a blast. After talking with them and Barry for about 6 minutes We gave Barry some hugs and they walked away with Barry smiling. He never looked back. We do not think it was chance that Barry saw Mckay. We feel blessed indeed.
